This mixed-use redevelopment project was a companion project to a larger urban renewal strategy for ‘LOTO’ in St. Paul, Minnesota. This block-size building anchors the parking for the proposed stadium but yet needed to stitch itself to the local street fabric.
The building’s program snaked up the structure to optimize the urban environment, first the retail, residential lobby and parking entrance. The middle was a sequence of ramps to that held the cars. Then a break of outdoor space that worked to delineate the tail end of the building, the loft apartments.
